Maths Week Day 4 – Rockin’ the Final Day of Times Tables Rock Stars!
19th Oct 2025
What a fantastic day in school today! The corridors were alive with colour and excitement as pupils celebrated the final day of Times Tables Rock Stars. From rainbow braids to sparkling buns, everyone came in looking like true rock stars — ready to end Maths Week in style!
At nine o’clock, the excitement kicked into high gear as 4th, 5th and 6th Class gathered to watch the Times Tables Rock Stars live stream. Bruno from Rockstars gave our school a special shout-out! It was a brilliant surprise and got everyone buzzing for the final showdown. Then the real action began — the ultimate TTRS battle to see who would become our school’s top rock star mathematicians. Fingers were flying and numbers were multiplying at lightning speed!
At ten o’clock, some classes tuned in to the Exploring Megafauna in Irish Waters event with the Explorers Education Programme. Pupils were fascinated as they learned about whales, sharks and other ocean giants that live in Irish waters.
Meanwhile, 3rd Class cleverly merged maths with geography in their fantastic project work about the Ancient Egyptians. They explored pyramids, shapes, measurements and maps — proving that maths truly is everywhere!
While all that was happening, our Senior Infants, First Class and Second Class were busy enjoying maths activities with their SET teachers. There was laughter, problem-solving and plenty of teamwork as the younger pupils showed off their growing maths confidence.
There’s still more to look forward to, too! Pupils have been invited to take part in our Maths Week Story Challenge. Each entry must include a shape, a number and a maths-related character name. There are lots of prizes waiting to be won for the most creative ideas.
And if all those brilliant hairstyles weren’t enough, 1st Class had a Hair Parade in the afternoon to show off their dazzling looks.
It’s been an incredible week of fun, learning and creativity. From solving times tables to building pyramids and exploring the deep blue sea, our pupils have shown that maths really does rock! 🎶
